10. Question: I borrowed a book and the automatic extension period ended. I still need the book, what can I do?
Answer: You can receive an additional extension by bringing the book at the circulation desk of the library. If the book has not been ordered by another reader, you will be able to renew the loan.
11. Question: I have many books / I have large and heavy books that I borrowed, and the automatic extension period is about to end. I still need the books, what can I do?
Answer: Be prepared to renew the book loans in advance. Books may be renewed several times. However, you must bring each of the books to the circulation desk each time to renew them.
12. Question: I am planning a trip abroad. The automatic extension period is about to end, but I still need the book. What can I do?
Answer: In order to avoid unpleasant situations, the book must be returned to the library before going abroad. If someone orders the book while you are abroad and you cannot return it on time, the book will accumulate fines. Being abroad is not a valid reason to avoid fines.
13. Question: How can I know if the book I borrowed has been ordered by someone else or if the automatic extension period is over?
Answer: The initial borrowing time is embedded in the stamp on the book with an initial return date. As the specified time approaches, check the reader card (through the library catalog) to see if the book was ordered or if the end of the automatic extension period is approaching. Monitoring of the status of the book is the responsibility of the reader.
The Library and Information System sends emails (to the address provided by the reader when registering) with notices about ordered books, the approaching end date of loaned books, or delays in returning your loaned books. Note that if there is an error in the email address / or the email was classified as spam, or other email system malfunctions - the email may not reach the reader.
Failure to receive library notices does not constitute grounds for eliminating fines that will accumulate for delays in returning the book.
