Bar-Ilan University's Library system consists of the Wurzweiler Central Library, faculty and departmental libraries and specialized research center collections. The central library is the head of the pyramid and provides reference and technical services to all the campus libraries.
The Library system has an Online Catalog – that is a joint catalog for the campus libraries, including the Law Library. The University's electronic resources belong to the Bar Ilan campus network and are accessible from every campus library. The computerized catalog includes all the books acquired since 1983, as well many books from earlier years. The library collection also includes online and offline material, electronic books and journals. The entire collection contains over 1,000,000 volumes, including periodicals, manuscripts and rare books.
Central library services:
Regular borrowing of a book from the central library, which includes approximately 150,000 volumes.
Limited borrowing of books that are compulsory reading in various courses.
Borrowing books and periodicals that are not included in the university's collections from other libraries – these can be ordered from collections in Israel and abroad.
Guidance is provided to individuals and groups by the Reference Department: Group guidance is provided as well, during orientation within the library at the beginning of the academic year for first-year students.
Photocopying services are available from rare books and microfilmed material.
In addition, the library holds exhibitions of books, paintings and works of art in the library's entrance hall.
