The School of Graduate Studies Formatting Instructions for Ph.D. Thesis

Pdf Formatting – general information

The PDF file of the work must be prepared for upload. Make sure the file is edited according to the School of Graduate Studies requirements. Below are instructions for all kinds of theses and special emphases for works which include article/s or written in LATEX or consist of several volumes or written in a language other than Hebrew or English.

In order not to miss any important instructions, please confer with this List.

Instructions for all kinds of Ph.D. Theses

  1. The thesis is to be typed with line spacing of 1.5 and wide margins (2-3 cm on each side). The bibliography, footnotes and references may be single-spaced (line spacing of 1.0).
    We recommend David or Arial font of point size 12 in Hebrew, and Times New Roman or Arial font of point size 12 in English. Font and font size for the bibliography should be the same as in the remainder of the work. References may be typed in a smaller font size.

  3. List of standard names of Faculties / Departments / Schools / Units

 

Special emphases for different kind of Ph.D. Theses

  1. Special emphases for work written in LaTeX and Ph.D. example – in addition to general instructions.
  2. Special guidelines in addition to the guidelines detailed in the presentations in  Hebrew / English, regarding work written in another language (Arabic, Russian, etc.) – in addition to general instructions. [in Hebrew]
  3. Special guidelines for work with more than one volume – in addition to general instructions.
  4. Special guidelines for Ph.D. which includes several articles and an example for such Ph.D. - in addition to general instructions. [This is relevant for every Ph.D. Thesis which includes articles, and not only for Ph.D. Theses which were defined as "Dissertation as collection of articles" by the School of Graduate Studies]
