Metrics for Evaluating Scientific Research
Metrics for Evaluating Scientific Research - Journal, Article, and Author Rankings
Research impact refers to the change or influence that research has on the world, society, and the economy. There are various metrics for evaluating the impact of scientific research. These metrics are generally divided into three categories:
- Journal Evaluation
- Article Evaluation
- Author Evaluation
In addition, in recent years, new approaches have emerged, leading to the development of alternative or complementary metrics to traditional citation-based indicators. These are known as Altmetrics (Alternative Metrics). These metrics assess impact through online activity, including shares, and mentions on social media platforms.
