When the library is closed, books may be returned using the return box located at the entrance to the Chemistry and Physics Library (Building 211, Room 103).
Reminder: The library is monitored by a closed-circuit camera system for security and safety purposes.
Use of the Learning Center resources is restricted to members of the Faculty of Life Sciences at Bar-Ilan University only. The use of books and other library resources is open to the entire university community.
Reserve a Room in the Library
The Life Sciences Library is intended to serve students and researchers in the field of biology by lending study materials and assisting in locating them. It is distinguished by its professional support and its pleasant atmosphere. In addition, the library offers training in locating articles and using Databases.
Library Collection
The library provides textbooks for various courses (Textbooks), books and journals for research purposes, and reference books. The library also holds special book collections in the fields of oceanography (the Lior Waki Memorial Collection) and optometry and vision science.
A computerized catalog is available to readers, enabling them to locate the position and loan status of all books and journals held in the university libraries. Searches may be conducted by keywords, author, title, and subject.
Electronic publications—such as books, academic articles, review articles, scientific conference proceedings, research reports, and more—from items included in online repositories and websites may be accessed through the Electronic Resources Databases.
Library Conduct Guidelines
Use of the Learning Center resources is restricted to members of the Faculty of Life Sciences at Bar-Ilan University only. The use of books and other library resources is open to the entire university community.
- Eating, drinking (except water), and/or smoking are strictly prohibited throughout the library, including the study rooms.
- Talking and group study are permitted in the shared Learning Space, while being considerate of other users and avoiding excessively loud conversation.
- Studying aloud is allowed—but not shouting—in the group study rooms.
- Please maintain silence in the study rooms designated for individual work (Rooms 6, 7, and 12).
- Library staff members are authorized to ask anyone who violates these rules to leave the library premises.
Rooms and Study Areas
The library includes a central shared Learning Space, seven private group study rooms, three shared quiet study rooms, and an advanced VR room.
