About
Faculty of Education Library
The Faculty of Education Library, named after Joseph and Miriam Lipschutz, is located in the Faculty of Education Building (905) on floor 0, which is the entrance floor at the parking level. The library stands out for its unique architectural structure, with a dome at its base that rises to the full height of the faculty building and rests solely on exposed metal pipes.
The library space is divided into three wings: at the base of the dome are the staff rooms, the reception desk, and the student computer area. Further along the library is the reading room, which has seating and study tables for students, and next to the reading room are three rooms that serve as a noisy learning space (within reason).
The library collection includes three sub-collections: the main one is the General Education Collection, which contains approximately 20,000 items. The collection includes books, brochures, publications, and research papers in the field of education and related sciences. Alongside it is the Pedagogical Institute collection, which contains approximately 16,000 items including textbooks, publications, manuals, videos, and teaching aids. This collection is organized according to the fields of knowledge taught at the teacher training school. The third collection is a collection of periodicals arranged in alphabetical order along the library walls
As befits one of the oldest libraries, the library prides itself on the constant renewal of publications in the field of education, as well as items of historical value from before the establishment of the state, including the periodicals that began to be published in the early years of Hebrew education at the beginning of the 20th century.
The library is open Sunday-Thursday from 09:00-16:00 and during the school year on Mondays and Thursdays also in the evenings until 19:00
In addition, the library staff is at your disposal and offers help in the areas of finding information, finding periodicals, writing bibliographies and submitting research papers, face-to-face and online, in any way convenient for you.
