How do I contact the library?

You can contact any of the librarians in the library via the library staff link, or by leaving a message on the faculty library website.

Where is the library located and how do you get there?

The library is located in Building 905, Floor 0 (Parking Level) on the North Campus of Bar-Ilan University, and can be reached by taking the shuttle and getting off at stops 15 or 2.

What are the library's opening hours?

On Sundays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, the library is open from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. On Mondays, and Thursdays, the library is open from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Opening hours are posted at the library entrance and on the bulletin board. Notices of changes to opening hours will be posted at the library entrance, on the Electronic board, on the library website, and on the faculty website.

Are there any collaborative learning spaces in the library?

The library has 3 collaborative learning rooms (noisy area - within reason) based on availability.

Is there a printer and a photocopier in the library?

Yes, the library has two black-and-white printers, which are also photocopiers. Their use requires registration for the Cross print app and loading the app via credit card. Librarians can be consulted for guidance in using the machines. A color printer is located in Building 405 in the printing house Zilumatic.

The library is closed. Where can I leave items to be returned?

At the entrance to the library, to the left of the door, there is a return box where you can leave items that have been returned. The box is emptied every morning.

Can I borrow a Milonit (electronic dictionary) from the library?

Yes, the library has two electronic dictionaries, which are available for one-day borrowing.

Does the library have a cell phone charger?

Yes, the library has two type c chargers available for loan. There is no iPhone charger.

I forgot my headphones at home. Can I get headphones?

Headphones can be purchased at the library for 15 NIS. Payment is made by credit card through the Library and Information System's payment system.

Are services provided to non-university guests?

Non-university guests are welcome to enter the library without restriction. Library borrowing, database access, and reference services are available exclusively to university students and faculty.

What services are available in the library besides studying and research?
A cold drink dispenser is located on the library floor near the elevators. A student kitchen is located on the 4th floor of the Faculty of Education building (905). A café and vending machines for drinks and sweets are located on the floor below the library. Food and drinks are not allowed in the library itself. We recommend that after eating, you do some exercise on the exercise bikes in the library.

Borrowing Procedures

What items can be borrowed from the library?

The library allows you to borrow books in the field of education, school textbooks, a Milonit (electronic dictionary), a C type charger, and DVDs. Journals and study kits cannot be borrowed.

How do I find the item in the library?

The library is divided into a General Education collection and a Pedagogical collection. Each item in the catalog has a call number, which indicates its location and the name of the collection. The General Collection is organized from 0.00 to 999, followed by numbers starting with the letters A, B, C, D, E, T, and a number. Within the library, the General Collection is located on the left. The Pedagogical Collection is organized by subject areas and call numbers. We highly recommend consulting the library staff and the signage for assistance.

Where is the loan done?

Borrowing items can be done through the librarian at the circulation desk, or in the rooms opposite it.

What happens if I'm late, or if I want to renew the borrowing period?

All answers about loan procedures appear on the Library and Information System website.

Reference services and databases

Which databases are relevant to the field of education?

What reference services are available at the library?

If you have difficulty locating articles, books, research papers, or questionnaires in the field of research you are writing about, you can go to the librarian or send an e-mail and ask for help in finding the materials. If you are not sure that you have written the bibliography in your work according to APA 7 rules, you are welcome to email the bibliography for review by a librarian. You can also contact the librarian if you have located an article, but do not have access to it.

Are training sessions held, and if so, when? 

Training sessions are generally held during semester breaks and at the beginning of the academic year. Announcements regarding them will appear on both the library and faculty websites.

What topics are covered in sessions?

The sessions cover the use of databases, bibliography management software, and the use of artificial intelligence engines.

In which areas is research support/consulting available? 
In addition to all the consultation topics offered to students, researchers can also receive guidance on the following subjects:

 a. Journal quality assessment. b. Open Access journal publishing agreements. c. Identifying predatory journals. d. Book acquisition. e. Creating bibliography links in syllabi. f. CRIS (Current Research Information System) consultation.
